Data on a Touch Pad

Datasets

We have developed several risk indices supporting the emergency response community identify in advance the health and medical needs of a disaster-impacted population. These are tailored to specific naturals disasters, such as hurricanes, drought, floods, and wildfires. Each index involves the creation of 8-9 individual datasets of value to different parties.

Our datasets are available on the our GeoMD Platform as well as on the AWS Marketplace

The emergency response community can use these risk indices to plan for the provisioning of emergency health resources within their overall disaster response planning operation. The public health community and health systems can use these to plan for the surge capacity and resources needed to provide care to the affected. City/urban planners and policy makers can use these to design cities in a way that limits disaster risk exposure, maximizes quick evacuation, and ensure the development of sustainable living & working environments. Below are the datasets created by our Wildfire Health Risk Index.

Points
Zoonotic Spillover Visual

During the Pandemic, we developed a number of risk indices responsive to emergent needs of governments and organizations globally. Among these include a risk index to identify the region of the world most at risk of a Zoonotic Spillover event, the cause of most epidemics and pandemics. This risk index alone generates 8 datasets that we feel have broader scope than the Index itself. For instance, builders and city/urban planners may want to know the changes in land use over time (Change in LULC Classification Rasters dataset). Pharmaceuticals may want to know not only the regions at risk of novel disease, but the underlying health factors to inform and direct their vaccine and medication R&D efforts (Health Factor Dataset). And global public health will benefit from knowing where to direct surveillance and early response efforts.

In addition, we have developed risk indices responsive to global public health challenges. For instance, with growing concern over plastics in our food supply and oceans, we’ve built a Plastic Bioaccumulation Health Risk Index to assess the health risks from exposure to plastic contaminated oceans, waterways, and sea food. This Index produces 10 datasets that may be of interest to wide audiences. For instance, environmental organizations and law firms have expressed interest in our Ocean Plastics and Projected Ocean Plastics datasets.
